This January, Kelly and David Teachout will be taking the courageous journey to Cambodia where they will serve those in need for three years. Nathan Cecil, Executive Director of Center of Global Impact (CGI), introduced the vision and mission of the work being done in Cambodia to the Teachouts. Through CGI and Help Ministries Partnership Program, Kelly and David will be helping those tragically impacted by human trafficking.
Kelly and David will be primarily working with victims of human trafficking. Due to the tough living conditions, families often feel forced to sell their daughters into slavery in order to provide for their family. Organizations like CGI are working to rescue girls and provide programs that will help these women find a job and receive an education. The educational programs that will help these young women find work include education, culinary, customer service and restaurant management.
Kelly and David both have backgrounds that will help teach these girls the skills they can use to better themselves. David has a background in the restaurant and food industry that will help provide training in the culinary ministry. Kelly will provide aid in the academic training programs. In addition, she will be teaching the students restaurant marketing skills.
At Donovan, we love seeing our clients do amazing things. We are excited to follow the work and change that David and Kelly will bring in Cambodia.
