Audit and Tax Senior
- Donovan CPAs is looking for a driven and entrepreneurial senior to join our growing audit and/or tax practices. You will join a team that provides assurance services to a wide range of clients in a variety of industries and join a forward-looking CPA firm with a clear vision for growth and employee development.
Responsibilities
- Senior audits ensure successful completion of reviews and audits for a variety of clients
- Assessing risks and evaluating the client’s internal control structure
- Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats
- Performing substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues
- Preparing individual, business, non-profit, and fiduciary tax returns
Qualifications
- CPA preferred
- 2-5 years of experience in public accounting
- 1-3 years of managing audit staff and leading audit engagements preferred and/or tax preparation/review experience preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel
- Familiarity with Quickbooks
- Strong analytical skills
- Well organized and a high attention to detail and accuracy
- Self-motivated and desire to take ownership of new projects
- A passion for working with numbers and helping people

Seasonal Tax Preparer
Responsibilities
- Tax preparation duties for corporations, partnerships, individuals, estates, trusts and not-for-profit entities.
- Preparing current, prior year, and amended federal and state tax returns.
- Questioning clients to obtain additional information on income, expenses and allowances.
- Preparing or assisting in preparing simple to complex returns for clients.
- Entering or verifying totals on forms prepared by clients to detect errors in arithmetic, data entry or procedures.
- Calculating owed or overpaid taxes, entering correct information on forms, following tax form instructions, tax tables, and applicable federal/state laws.
- Evaluating financial records such as W-2’s, 1099’s , income statements, and documentation of expenditures to determine forms needed to prepare complete tax returns.
- Furnishing clients with sufficient information and advice in order to ensure correct tax form completion.
- Recognizing opportunities for providing additional services to clients.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in preparing tax returns and relevant training.
- Strong aptitude for learning and self-starter.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and thrives in a team environment.
