(Indianapolis, IND.) – August 10, 2021 – Donovan CPAs announces the retirement of longtime partner Eugene “Gene” Fitzgerald after nearly 50 years in the field. Fitzgerald started his career in 1972 at Peat, Marwick, Mitchell and Company.
Fitzgerald opened his own practice in 1978 and merged his accounting firm with Donovan in 2015 in order to offer a wider range of services to his clients. He has been working as a CPA at Donovan since that time and was responsible for auditing, accounting, tax planning and compliance.
“We will miss Gene’s experience and wisdom, but wish him only the best during the next phase of his life,“ said Jeff Donovan, Managing Partner at Donovan CPAs. “I know he’ll enjoy hitting the links more often, playing tennis, spending more time with his family and eating homemade pie – four of his favorite things to do.”
Fitzgerald graduated from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts. He is currently a member of the Indiana CPA Society and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Gene also serves on the Indiana Hospice and Palliative Care Organization Board of Directors.
